For the Mac M1/M2 model, Parallels is a hosted hypervisor (type-2). Another premium application for Macbook users with x86 processors is VMware Fusion. VirtualBox, however, does not support the M1/M2 Macbooks because it only supports x86 architecture. The popular hosted hypervisor for installing virtual machines is Virtual Box. Installing guest operating systems or virtual machines on the new MacBook has been one of my biggest challenges. For those who are highly experienced with Intel Macbooks, which support the majority of the market's software libraries, it also presents a lot of issues.
